Hot Water Express™

The Hot Water Express™ is a water recirculation system that provides, almost instantaneously, hot water at a sink, shower or tub.

The Hot Water Express™ drains the cold water that is in the pipe when the faucet is engaged, and funnels it back into the bottom of the tank, so hot water is immediately available. This process eliminates water waste, reduces water usage, and saves money by lowering the utility bill.

Special features

  • No need to run cold water until hot is available
  • Cold water is drained and recycled – not wasted
  • Hot water is readily available from any tap
  • Saves time for users
  • Reduces water usage
  • Reduces utility bills
  • Technology can be used with current water heaters
  • Economical feature for new water heaters
  • Great for residential, commercial, and industrial applications
  • Green technology
  • Qualifies for State and Federal tax credits

The Hot Water Express™ system includes heating water for a fixture, draining cold water from the system before applying hot water to the fixture, collecting the cold water drained from the system, returning collected water for heating; and sending hot water to the fixture.

This may include blocking water from flowing to a fixture while water is draining and blocking water from flowing into a water heater as water is draining. The step of draining may include pumping water away from a fixture and sending it toward a water heater. This ensure hot water will come from the tap immediately.

With the recent in energy costs, many people are reexamining their home energy usage in an effort to save on the family budget. Whether electrically operated or gas-fired, hot water heaters keep a large supply of water at a constant elevated temperature whether anyone Is home to use it or not.

Unfortunately, when hot water is needed in a shower, tub, or while washing dishes, the cold water standing in the pipe must be drained first. This means waiting with the water running for a period of time, perhaps up to several minutes, depending n the distance from the hot water tank t the point of use.

Not only does this impact the user’s schedule, it also means that a large quantity of potable water is simply discarded down the drain with its associated financial and ecological impact.

This type of water-saving technology will be especially useful in areas with a water shortage. The possibility exists of making the Hot Water Express™ a mandatory requirement for each state to convert existing water heaters or new water heater installations for future development in both residential and commercial buildings.
