Montgomery Suspension™

The Montgomery Suspension™ is a laparoscopic method and apparatus for treating vaginal prolapse. Unlike the vaginal mesh procedures and the sacrocolpopexy mesh kit which have been stopped by the FDA, The Montgomery Suspension™ utilizes a tubular mesh graft that is affixed to the vaginal apex and is suspended along the pathway of the round ligaments.

The Montgomery Suspension™, which is a unique technology, completely fixes the problems that have plagued the vaginal mesh and sacrocolpopexy mesh procedures. This new system is a proven method that has been successful in every surgery where it has been implanted.

Special features

  • Minimally invasive laparoscopic vaginal suspension
  • Avoids risks associated with vaginal mesh procedures and sacrocolpopexy
  • Technically simple and straightforward
  • Easier to perform – Could be performed by most general gynecologist with minimal training
  • It follows the physiologic pathways of the round ligaments, providing more natural support, rather than attaching the vagina to the patient’s spine
  • Improves the support of the anterior vaginal wall and bladder
  • Is attached to the full thickness of the vaginal wall and endopelvic fascia from above
  • Anterior and lateral suspension
  • Safer method – Less risk of injury to the urinary tract
  • Enables surgeon to avoid complicated dissection
  • Minimizes suturing
  • Suspends the vagina in a physiologic direction without undue tension
  • Minimal suture fixation of the mesh to the vagina
  • No vaginally inserted mesh so no risk of mesh erosion
