Carpal Tunnel Mouse™
The Carpal Tunnel Mouse™ is an innovative, foot-operated computer control pad that has been designed to eliminate the repetitive injury aspect of operating a standard computer.
The Carpal Tunnel Mouse™ consists of a thin, circular, 5-inch diameter, pressure sensitive pad that is placed on the floor and is operated with the foot. The foot actions are transmitted to the USB port on the computer using a high frequency RF carrier frequency. The pressure sensitive pad moves the curser a particular direction depending on which area of the pad the operator presses down on. Left and right clicking are controlled by buttons that protrude below the mouse and are operated by simply pushing on the buttons with the bottom of the shoe. In the center of the touch-sensitive pad is a button that serves as a rest for the foot, but can also move to the left or right allowing the operator to page down or up. The button can twist in a clockwise or counter-clockwise direction to zoom in or pan out on the screen, or document in use.
The Carpal Tunnel Mouse™ is a small, unobtrusive and needed device to help those suffering from Carpal Tunnel and to help prevent Carpal Tunnel from occurring in those who do not yet suffer from it. This approach prevents any repetitive motion of the hand and eliminates any wrist or arm repetitive motion.
PRODUCT FEATURES & BENEFITS
Special features
- Aesthetically pleasing
- Repetitive motion injuries that occur in the wrist/hand can be avoided by moving the work to a larger and stronger part of the body (the foot)
- Reasonably inexpensive components provide good profit and marketability for the manufacturer.
- Foot-operated computer control pad
- Helps those suffering from Carpal Tunnel and to help prevent Carpal Tunnel from occurring in those who do not yet suffer from it.
- Prevents any repetitive motion of the hand and eliminates any wrist or arm repetitive motion
- Pad cover is durable enough to withstand dirt and debris that may be located in the sole of the shoe
- Pad is sensitive enough to flex locally to toe/foot pressure and allow just that particular direction selection to be made without depressing other direction switches
- EVA foam cover may be supplied in almost any vibrant color
- Cover is non-skid and non-marking
- Center molded plastic stabilizer assists the selection of the desired cursor direction control
- Comes with a USB dongle that has a 30” free air range that provides transmissions with very little interference
- The microcontroller on the foot pad PCB, translates all the inputs and transmits the data to the dongle using the latest version Bluetooth protocol
- Easy to operate with either foot
- Mouse button arms extend to accommodate user
- Requires no unnatural movements by foot that might lead to injury
- Small and unobtrusive
