Hide-A-Stand
There are an estimated 16 million hunters in the United States including: deer, elk, and moose, and wild birds such as turkey, quail, pheasant, and duck. In 2024 there were 15,921,485 hunting licenses sold in the U.S. (us-east-1.quickite.aws.amazon.com). This number is expected to rise with the continued increase in the number of women joining in hunts. The global hunting blind market was estimated at $13.2 billion in 2023, with the North American hunting blind market – approximately 55% of the global market – estimated at $7.26 billion. “In hunting, sometimes the best strategy is to blend in so well
that even the trees get confused.” Anonymous
The goal of every hunter is to get close enough to their intended target to bag them, without being detected by the target. To this end, hunters will use a variety of camouflaging techniques: camouflage clothing, scent blockers, stands, and blinds. Each has its pro’s and con’s and varies by the type of target the hunter is pursuing.
In the case of deer hunting, many hunters use a tree deer stand. This elevates the hunter above potential targets in the hope the deer will not detect their presence and will move within range of the hunter. The need to obscure the hunter’s appearance and any movement is essential to preventing the target from being spooked before the hunter can attempt to take their shot, either by gun or bow.
While deer are believed to be essentially color blind, they are able to detect shape and movement. Even the most experienced hunter can still be detected in camouflage clothing by his or her shape and their movements. It is difficult to remain completely still for hours, we all need to stretch our legs, eat and drink, or just scratch our nose, all movements that could be detected by animals even while we are sitting in a tree.
What is needed is a means to hide the hunter from view while still allowing the hunter to see their target and move into position to take the shot, without blocking the hunter or becoming visible to the target. The Hide-A-Stand is the answer.
PRODUCT FEATURES & BENEFITS
Special features
- Light weight
- Easily slides on to the tree stand platform
- Uses foliage cut from the tree of choice
- Designed to transfer the weight of the camouflage holder and foliage to the platform
PRODUCT DETAILS
The Hide-A-Stand is made up of a crossbeam connected via canted gussets to upper and lower support brackets that allow the Hide-A-Stand to mount easily to the supporting platform of a tree stand. The platform of the tree stand inserts easily between the upper and lower brackets transferring the weight of the camouflage structure to the platform.
Small branches are then cut from the surrounding tree and placed into the multiple foliage pipes allowing for a more natural camouflage that blends into the anchor tree, concealing the occupants while still allowing the hunter to see their target.
Materials needed to produce the Hide-A-Stand:
- Recyclable metal, aluminum or PVC
- Gussets
- Support brackets
- Foliage receiving pipes
The Hide-A-Stand is covered by United States Utility Patent: 11,716,987
